Klimt Trees are our inspiration

With the onset of winter, the beauty of the patterns of tree branches are visible all around us.  I showed students the intricately patterned artwork of Gustav Klimt, and we created our own trees, using lots of patterns and lots of GOLD, as Klimt did.

Students in third grade used metallic oil pastels and watercolor paints.  5th Graders embossed tooling foil, then colorized with oil pastels, then embossed designs with wooden sticks.  4th graders are embroidering trees with golden thread and sequins.
