Congratulations to Hartland Art Students!
Three of our 6th grade students have winning posters in the annual Earth Science Week Poster Contest co-sponsored by Omya, the Vermont Marble Exhibit, the Vermont Geological Survey, and the Vermont Geological Society. This years theme was: Fossils- What do they teach us?
All students with winning posters will receive a mineral or fossil specimen courtesy of the Vermont Marble Exhibit, an award certificate, and cash prizes!

Here are the first and third prize winning posters. These both show much hard work, creative design, and an appreciation for the beauty and significance of fossils. |
VATA Conference
Last week, I attended the annual conference of the Vermont Art Teachers Association, held at UVM in Burlington. As usual, I received much inspiration and was lucky enough to meet and listen to our keynote speaker, artist Wolf Kahn. He is absolutely one of my FAVORITE artists. His use of color is extraordinary!
